Complete these steps before running the BSNEE Upgrade Installer:
- If you are using SQL Server 2008, you will need to update to SQL Server 2012 or newer.
- If your BSNEE Web Services node is using a self-signed certificate, you will need to switch to a certificate signed by a certificate authority (CA) before upgrading BSNEE. An example of a free CA service can be found here.
- If your BSNEE 4.2 instance was upgraded from version 4.1 (i.e. BSNEE 4.2 was not a fresh install), do the following:
- Navigate to the %TEMP% directory for your user account:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\
- Delete all files in the %TEMP% directory. If you're using RDP, Windows may resolve you to a subfolder of the %TEMP% directory. Ensure that you delete all files from the %TEMP% directory itself.
- Navigate to the %TEMP% directory for your user account:
- Stop the following BSNEE services (the installer will start them automatically after the upgrade is complete):
- BSNEEScheduler
- BSNEESubscriber
- BSNEEDeviceScreenshotsProcessor
- Ensure that there is at least 5GB of free space on the C: drive. The installer will also indicate an error if there is not enough space.
- Ensure that the MIME types listed here are registered with the IIS persistent storage web server.
