To format or erase your SD card, refer to the following sections based on whether you are on a Windows system, macOS, BrightSign with BSN.cloud, or BrightSign without BSN.cloud:
Windows
Connect your SD card to your computer using an adapter if necessary.
Open File Explorer (aka Windows Explorer) by holding the Windows key and tapping E on the keyboard, or running Explorer from the Start Menu. The SD card should appear as a drive letter in File Explorer
Right-click the drive letter and select Format (see Image 1).
Choose exFAT - if using OS/firmware lower than 6.2.94 or using a Series 2 or older player, choose FAT32 (Default) or FAT
Select Start and then format.
Once the process is done, click the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon and Eject the SD card or right-click the drive letter and select Eject - the available options may vary depending on your hardware, installed software, and version of Windows (see Image 2 for an example).
It is now safe to remove the SD card from your computer
