How can I buy subscriptions for BSN.Cloud or BSN.com?
BSN.Cloud
Email orders@brightsign.biz to purchase a bsn.Content subscription and provide the following information:
Your environment (BSN.Cloud)
The name of your BSN.Cloud network/account (you can find it on the top right of BrightAuthor:connected)
How many players you have on your network. Every player needs a subscription, and the subscription costs $99 per player per year.
The orders team may request additional information from you.Â
BSN.com
Email orders@brightsign.biz and provide the following information:
Your environment (www.brightsignnetwork.com)
The network name, which can be found in the Settings section on the top right of your BrightAuthor application.
The number of subscriptions you wish to purchase. Each player on the network requires a separate subscription. Once the subscriptions are added to your network, you will be able to assign them to the players.
Are BSN and BSN.Cloud related? Can I move my BSN account to BSN.Cloud?
No. These are completely separate platforms and ecosystems. Existing BSN users must create a BSN.Cloud account to use that platform.
Due to underlying architecture changes between the platforms, and the many elements that make up a BSN account (players, groups, users, permissions, content, scheduling), users must export their presentation from BSN using BrightAuthor and then upload the presentation to BSN.Cloud.
Can I network a player without subscribing to BSN?
Several features allow you to distribute presentations and other dynamic content to BrightSign players without a BSN account:
RSS / MRSS / Live Data / Web Pages: As long as a player has an ethernet or wireless connection, you can use it to access RSS feeds, media RSS fees, and Live Data, as well as sending and receiving commands over the network--even if the player is set up as a Standalone unit. You can also use some networked players (for example, XD or 4K models) to download and display remote HTML content.
Local File Networking allows you to publish directly to a player. This allows you to see a player on the local network in BrightAuthor:connected or BrightAuthor. You can select your unit and publish schedules, playlists, and content to it.Â
Web Folder (in BrightAuthor:connected) / Simple File Networking (in BrightAuthor) allows you to distribute content to players remotely using your own web server. Use BrightAuthor:connected or BrightAuthor to upload presentations and schedules to the web server. This feature does not support FTP.
Note that networked BrightSign players don't use Windows file sharing.
How can I tell if I am using BSN or BSN.Cloud?
BrightSignNetwork and BSN.Cloud are independent platforms that require separate credentials.
BrightSignNetwork.com is our legacy platform that uses BrightAuthor for authoring and player management.
BSN.Cloud is our newer platform that uses BrightAuthor:connected for authoring and player management.
These applications can be downloaded here.
Note that the same app that configured a player must also be used to publish to it, regardless of the player publishing mode. If switching from BrightAuthor to BrightAuthor:connected, players configured using BrightAuthor must be reconfigured using BrightAuthor:connected.
