The minimum effective radius (to trigger an event) depends on the sample rate of the GPS unit and the speed of the unit. If the unit takes one sample per second, consider the speed at which the unit is moving and pick a radius that will contain at least four samples. For example, if you have a car driving 32km/hr (20 mph) and a sample rate of 1hz (1 per second), you would need a minimum radius of ~35m in order to have four sample opportunities within the radius. |
