Getting Started with the Control Cloud
Follow these steps to set up and provision new players over the internet:
Prepare Your Player
Make sure you have a BSN.cloud account and are logged in.
Connect your players to a live internet connection through Ethernet and to the display screen through HDMI®.
Power on your players with a blank Micro SD card.
Go to the Admin tab and select Setup.
In Player Settings, fill out Setup Name, Player Name, and Player Description, as in Image 1. Set the Idle Screen Color to something other than black, so that you can see if the player is outputting a video signal. For more details about each parameter, visit this page.
Select the Publishing Mode. Control Cloud account users can select Partner App (to select a CMS partner) or App URL (to set players up behind a firewall) in addition to the Standalone, Local File Networking, and Simple File Networking options.
Choose Add Setup to Library.
Provision your Player
Go to the Admin tab in BrightAuthor:connected and select Provision.
If you have a limited number of players to provision, use the check boxes to select them from the list, and select Apply Setup. Then select the setup file that you saved to your library in the previous section. Apply Setup to the player you want to update. The players will automatically download and apply the new setup files from the cloud.
If you need to provision a large number of players, you can Download Template to create a CSV file containing serial numbers, device names and other device information and then Upload Provisioning File to provision the players using that CSV file.
To add more players, select Add Player. Enter the Player Serial Number, Player Name, and Player Description and then Add Player.
