Display an Excel File
BrightSign does not support Excel files natively. However, you can either export an Excel worksheet as HTML, or display Excel files as images. The instructions for both scenarios are below.
Exporting an Excel file as HTML
Go to File > Save As in Excel.
In the Save as type list, select *.htm, *.html.
Under Save, choose Selection: Sheet and click Publish.
The Publish as Web Page window will open. Select the sheet(s) you wish to publish.
Use the Browse button to find and select your server (in the example screenshot, the HTML file is being placed into a public dropbox folder).
Check the AutoRepublish web page box.
Click Publish. The first time you save the workbook again, you will see the following window. Select the Enable AutoRepublish feature to ensure that the worksheet is automatically updated whenever a change is made to the document.Â

Displaying an Image or Text of an Excel file
You can convert Excel files to image or text files and then display them using the player. There are many different applications that can perform this conversion (here's one example). The easiest way to convert an Excel sheet is to take a screenshot of it and save it as image file. Check Supported Image Formats to ensure the saved images will display successfully on the player
Depending on how complicated the spreadsheet is, you can recreate the fields and layout using the Live Text State in BrightAuthor:connected or the Live Text feature in BrightAuthor.
